What is the Political Courage Test?

Nevada Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I rather see them eliminated along with massive financial support from any group or individual.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Yes Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
Judges' discretion should be observed.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
Such incentives as I have observed here in Nevada function as government subsidy for certain business while other businesses are expected to carry the load. This creates animosity toward the preferred business and mistrust in government.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
I am opposed to federal funding of education in general since it opens the door to federal control of education regardless of local needs and culture.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
Yes Do you support funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
Let the states and locales of fracking determine what is in their best interest.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Climate change is a result of forces far beyond human control. Prevention of pollution is important, but beyond those efforts designed to deal with pollution, no control federal or otherwise supposedly aimed at climate change is appropriate.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Thousands of regulations supposedly aimed at reducing gun violence are an absolute waste of time. Although fully automatic weapons are already regulated and explosive devices are prohibited under federal law, individuals regularly manufacture these items for personal use against others. No amount of law, especially if it stands against the 2nd amendment, can prevent what gun control claims to prevent.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Everyone I have talked with in the health care field across Nevada describes Obamacare as an utter disaster.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Returning immigrants to their country of origin must be done fairly, reasonably, and in keeping with current immigration law. A policy dealing with immigration and refugees coming into this country must be developed comprehensively with an eye to the well-being of our country.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Federal mandates, court ordered, presidentially designated or otherwise directed at the general population, are divisive, non-productive and tend to undermine deeply held conscientious beliefs.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
This depends on careful planning and implementation in order to avoid hurting current social security recipients.
